Treatment of Depression?
Many individuals try to treat their depression at home. While this might be effective in the short run, over the counter medications often have various side effects. In severe cases, they can further exacerbate the condition. It is essential to talk to a mental health professional before taking any sort of medication. There is also a misconception regarding a type of depression known as ‘treatment resistant depression’. While depression is known to relapse sometimes, more often than not counseling and medication can prove to be very effective in alleviating at least some of the pain experienced.
