About Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Counseling
It’s time we learn to deal with this through a natural, holistic, and long lasting approach.
At Illuminations, our practitioners & counselors provide a unique integration of powerful holistic healing and ancient traditional healing techniques with western psychological and psychotherapy practices in order to provide the client the fastest route to mental, emotional and physical recovery.
These scientific evidence-based practices involve traditional psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychological counseling.
We have found that sometimes western traditional practices as a stand-alone may not always offer the client the resolution they require. However, when integrating them with powerful and proven alternative healing solutions such as mindfulness, yoga, meditation a therapeutic experience becomes that much more powerful, long lasting and balanced and results in providing a complete well-being experience for the client.
The goal of the hypnotherapist is to facilitate a process in which individuals by releasing unwanted habits and negative patterns from the deepest aspects of their subconscious mind.
Psychotherapy & Counseling
Psychotherapy is a general term that is used to describe the process of treating psychological disorders and mental distress. During this process, a trained psychotherapist helps the client tackle a specific or general problem such as a particular mental illness or a source of life stress.
Depending on the approach used by the therapist, a wide range of techniques and strategies can be used. However, almost all types of psychotherapy involve developing a therapeutic relationship, communicating and creating a dialogue and working to overcome problematic thoughts or behaviors.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Did You Know? Of all the talking therapies, CBT has the most clinical evidence to show that it works. Studies have shown that it is at least as effective as medication for many types of depression and anxiety disorders.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a branch of psychotherapy that treats issues by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. Unlike traditional psychoanalysis which probes childhood traumas & painful memories to get at the root causes of conflict, CBT focuses on a solution based approach. This is done by encouraging the client to challenge distorted thinking patterns and perceptions and transform destructive behavior patterns
CBT is based on the premises that our behavior is a result of our thoughts and perceptions. Feeling distressed, in some cases, may distort one’s perception of reality. CBT identifies limiting thought patterns and provides powerful tools to overcome them.
It seems that CBT really can change your brain and rewire it.” – Dr. Paul Blenkiron, Consultant Psychiatrist
