3 Ways Stress Kills you

A lot has already been mentioned about stress and its ill effects. All of us have experienced stress at some or the other point of time in life. All of us have also at least once read some article or blog or book or seen a video highlighting the benefits of healthy living and diminishing stress. However, we don’t often realize how disastrous stress is and how deeply rooted its impact is in our life. Here are 3 ways Stress kills you every day and you need to do something about it.

1. It has a direct impact on your Nervous System reducing your immunity

Stress tends to affect the body and your nervous system excessively, as a result, making many organs go in overdrive mode to help calm the system and allow the parasympathetic system to kickback. In the process of undertaking this, it often weakens our immunity system making us more prone to suffering from various diseases.

2. Affects your Productivity

When stressed we are not able to think clearly and in a focused manner. This in turn affects the right and left brain stopping us from getting those creative juices to flow. Not only do we not get those good ideas but productivity goes for a massive toss leading to more distracted and unfocused behavior from each of us affecting in work, personal life, and more.

3. Leads to Addiction

When stressed the brain starts ruminating excessively and we can’t stop worrying. As we go in this mode of panic we resort to various behavior patterns to help us relax such as substance, smoking, drinking, binge eating, craving for dessert, an overdose of tea, coffee, etc. All of the above are temporary stimulants that relax the body for the time being but affect it adversely the minute the effects run out. Leading to even more usage of the same substance next time trapping the individual in this vicious negative cycle.

This is how stress affects you in more ways than you can realize. Seek help, it’s still not late.
