3 Important Lessons I’ve learned as a Hypnotherapist
A few years back I quit my flourishing corporate career in search of balance and a deeper meaning to our existence. This journey led me to many revelations and interesting experiences – I traveled solo, I learned to garden, I learned to paint, I volunteered in a dog shelter to name a few. But the most profound change that came along was becoming a Certified Integrated Hypnotherapist, and thus began the 2nd innings of my career in the field of Mind Sciences.
Today, as a practicing Hypnotherapist, I bring to you the 3 most important lessons that I have learned working with my clients and also while using the science of Hypnosis in my everyday life –
1. Aham Brahmasmi – “We are the lords and masters of our universe”
I had heard this statement, maybe many times, but in my journey as a Hypnotherapist working with clients across the globe, if there is one truth that has emerged so strong – it is this. I witness transformations every day, thanks to the nature of my profession, and these transformations become effortless when we understand the power of our Mind. The Human Mind is a powerful tool. What we think, is what we become – our Mind has the ability to create and influence the reality we experience. Be it in our health, career, or relationships, every aspect of our outer world is a mere reflection of our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs embedded deep in our subconscious.
2. Aparigraha – “The virtue of non-possessiveness and non-grasping”
Hypnotherapy taught me the Art of Letting Go. Life is all about choices, but many times we find ourselves trapped in our own patterns and thought processes. More often than not, we allow the mind to work against us, rather than for our benefit – by fostering belief systems or by carrying residual emotional charges from traumatic events from our past. If left unaddressed, it keeps us stuck in a rut of fear, anger, and triggered responses that negatively impact our lives. All we must learn to do is to tap into the power of our infinite potential and align our conscious thought processes with our subconscious programs. This awakens the power of our infinite dormant potential, thus allowing us to break the barriers of limiting beliefs. We learn to let go of what doesn’t serve us purpose and walk free.
3. Amarananta Vidyarthi – “Student for Life”
I’ve always found immense pleasure in working with people – in the corporate sector too I worked in Human Resources. When I delved deeper in Hypnotherapy, I realized that my love for working with people was just not because I was naturally a people’s person but more so because each life I interacted with or touched taught me something. Today as I continue to work with my clients, I have soulfully declared and admitted to be being a student for life. Each person, each situation, each challenge is an opportunity for us to learn something new about ourselves or our view of the world. We all learn and we all heal together – and that in itself is a beautiful experience.
