About Navakarana Vinyasa

Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa™ literally “composition of nine movements”is a method developed by Dario Calvaruso over 20 years of study, practice and researches based on the ancient practice of Karaṇas methodologically re-systematised for vinyāsa practice and teaching.

Dario has developed his method based the teaching of his master Jñānānanda Bharati (Himalayan Yogi of the Naṭ Sampradāya), Vṛnda Ramanan (from deva-dāsi sampradāya) and from the study of scriptures over the last two decades. Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa is a creative and evolving method for personalised practice and teaching. It can be applied for self-practice and for teaching one-to-one and group classes.

Meet Renowned Yoga Therapist, Spiritual and Tantra Healing Practitioner, Asia’s Most Renowned Yoga Guru, Dario Calvaruso for a yoga and meditation healing sessions. Originally from Italy, Dario left his motherland and family at a very young age to embark on a journey of self-discovery and study of Yoga and Āyurveda in India that lasted over 15 years. His first destination was Kāśi – The City Of Light (Benares, India). During this time, he studied Sanskrit, Philosophy and Āyurveda with local pandits and was only later initiated to the the practice of Tantric techniques of Yoga and Kriyā by Pandit Om Prakāśa.
On a very auspicious day whilst having a bath at the Ganges in Benares, Dario met his master Swami Jñānānanda Bharati, who took him in his āśrama at Gangotri, the source of the Holy River Ganges in the Himalayas (about 4,000 m altitude). Dario lived with his master and learnt yoga and spiritual practices from him in the most orthodox tradition (guru-śiṣya paraṃparām) – quite a unique experience, especially for a westerner.
